Betting Strategy on Greyhound Racing
Greyhound racing and betting have a long history. It is a major part of the Australian culture. Over the last couple of decades, modern technology has changed the way that people bet on the sport. Instead of making a random guess, it is better to be aware of certain factors that you must know before betting on greyhound racing.
The Grade – Good punters will consider the grade of the greyhound racing. They will compare the previous stats with the present ones. For instance, jumping from the 4th grade to Free for All is a major step up, and it will take a good dog to be able to make the transition and come out of it. Similarly, if a dog is dropping in class on the recent runs, it is probably going to find the race easier, and it will likely put in a better performance.
Confidence – Greyhounds tend to race much better when they are high on confidence. If the dog has found nothing but trouble at the most recent starts, it is highly likely to be low in confidence than the one that has been having great luck in running.
Trainer – There are some punters who prefer to back the runners from the well-known kennels. However, a good trainer will get the best out of their dog. This means it is crucial to pay attention to which trainers are getting the winners.
Track Suitability - It is important to know how the dog has performed on a certain track. Check the past records. Not all the tracks are the same. Also, not every dog will be comfortable running through the track. For instance, a large greyhound will have more trouble navigating through a tight two-turn track than a smaller greyhound. Yes, there are exceptions to this rule, but it is important to check the form to ensure the greyhound is suited. Also, it will help you to figure out the best time for the track and trip. A fraction of a second might not seem much in real life, but it's just over eight lengths.
